it's been 4 years since it happened to me.

an almost overnight experience.

i read ray franz coc in 3 days and that was it.

HUGE relief knowing I don't have to toe some imaginary line anymore, it's now between me, my Creator and his Son. I remember being asked by a JW friend what I though about the 'Truth TM' and I told him I don't believe in organized religion. He laughed and belittled me saying I knew NOTHING about the Bible. Well I studied, went in, got baptized and low and behold a few short years later I proved myself right. I still don't believe in organized religion. Maybe some are better off in, but as for myself it's a no go, just don't fit. Again leaving is a HUGE relief and am glad not to be bound to a borderline illegal organization that will have the law catch up with it one day soon. Wouldn't want to be in their shoes. I still a believer and read and study daily, my speed my terms but within scriptural boundaries, not that of men if that makes any sense.

Seems to me they changed things simply for the sake of progress.. The brown songbook did have some good melodies and I used to actually like singing along to most of them and would do well. The mighty warrior one ( crossing the red sea ) and a few others still stand out in my mind. They dropped the ball big time with the new stuff, often times tried and proven simply works don't mess with it !

i've noticed there seems to be a higher percentage of born-ins here....who are the converted jws?.

Came in on my own hard start in life lost parents young etc. always knew about the kingdom knew lots of JW's met one cycling got me interested as he was manipulative needed to belong was fragile at the time but could see the BS, relented and spent 8-10 years in the cult. Burnt out faded read Ray's books and concluded I knew the corporate sham all along but wanted to believe. Did some intense research over the summer and doing my own thing still a believer in the realm of God and the Melchizedek priesthood through Christ.

like a club association.

For that smart ass elder withy the attitude the OCD in me would of liked to key the paint ! I would never do it but the temptation would be there after the crapping he gave in his talk. One guy in my book study said it best to keep life simple as the end is very close. Year after he built a new mac mansion home with brickwork and expanded his metal shop to the tune of a couple million. That's ok in itself but the double standards are astounding.

those were the frustrated words of my friend as we stood out in his large yard in the country, just about to enjoy a nice bonfire on a beautiful night.

what was it that could have been a lesser evil than killing himself?
